The philosophy of Fluready.net and how to engage in the online collaborative planning network.

Fluready.net grew out of the white paper on business continuity management for avian influenza. We wanted a way to promote discussion and feedback on the white paper and develop an online collaborative network.  We wrote the white paper to fill 3 major gaps: 1. the need for guidance for private and public sector organisations, 2. most of the continuity literature on pandemic influenza until now has been written by IT and continuity consultants who gloss over the epidemiological uncertainties and 3. to provide an Australian perspective.

Fluready.net offers a FluForum where you can discuss and share planning tips (yes, you have to register to post to stop spam robots filling the forum with unseemly messages). FluBlog is a weblog where we post updates on the latest information on avian and pandemic influenza of relevance to planning. This site is designed to assist both public and private sector organisations and particularly those essential services that ensure society keeps ticking over. Hospitals and health care systems are important, but so is water, power, and food on supermarket shelves.

If you are willing to share your continuity plans, email us, and we will post them online into a password protected area where you can exchange ideas with other organisations that are willing to share plans. We will soon be adding an email list you can subscribe to for special alerts, there will probably be two levels - weekly round up email and for those who don't want anymore email - an Alert Email service that only posts when really significant news is breaking that you MUST know - e.g. the pandemic clock suddenly moves closer to midnight.

We hope you find Fluready.net useful
